Everyone wants Jinxy, except the one she loves.

In a near-future USA decimated by an incurable plague and tightly controlled by a repressive government, teenagers with special skills are recruited and trained to fight in the war against terror.

Now a rebellion is brewing.

All sixteen year-old expert sniper Jinxy James wanted was a little freedom, but now she’s trapped between the government and the rebels, unsure of who the real enemy is. When she uncovers appalling secrets and twisted motivations, Jinxy begins to question her allegiances. Soon she will need to choose between love and freedom, as she struggles to do the right thing in a world gone horribly wrong.

Refuse is the second book in the Recoil Trilogy (young adult dystopian romance). This much anticipated sequel is filled with romance and heartache, shocking twists, and a thought-provoking examination of freedom, fear, loyalty and identity.

Refuse begins immediately after the cliffhanger ending of Recoil. Buy it now to continue the compelling story of Jinxy, Quinn and the forces ranged against them.

Wow...all the feels. I loved this book and I'm going to buy the last one in the trilogy as soon as I've finished this review.
The highlight was the tension and conflict between Jinx and Quinn, and unlike in most romances where the conflict is contrived and silly, this one is believable (she was kinda responsible for his brother's imprisonment). I both loved and hated the animosity between them when Jinx arrives at the rebels camp. My heart was torn when Quinn treated her so badly. Ah but their reunion was the sweetest (I do love a good romance). I may have a major book crush on Quinn.
The book deals with the issue of good and evil and how there is no such thing as being completely good or completely evil. It soon becomes apparent that the rebels are not purely good and they try to use Jinx for her skills. She is in a tough position having deserted her crew and then is mistrusted and hated in the rebel crew with no where to go. I love how she refuses to back down from her morals. She is such a kickass hero!
The most heartbreaking part was when Jinx had to be brave and help Nicky. The rebels showed little compassion and in fact were real cowards. It was just another moment that endeared me to Jinxy's character.
I can't wait to read the final installment and I hope that the ending will be a happy, optimistic one as I find dystopian novels tend to end very bleakly.

Refuse Recoil Trilogy Book 2 eBook Joanne Macgregor Reviews

So amazing to see how things are from the rebellions side. Filled with action, betrayal, and deep bone crushing sadness that leaves you spent. You will be so enthralled from the start that you won't want to put it down. I know I couldn't. Read the whole Trilogy in a day and a half.
Finished in hours, great series, pre-ordered the third.
The trilogy was a good read.
Couldn't put it down! It's pure adrenaline points melded perfectly with the rest of the story. I can't wait to read 3
Great series. I enjoy the author's writing
This book continues the saga of the main characters and is action packed. I could not put this book down.
Ohhh, great spiel! The second instalment is better than the first. Jinxy has grown in leaps and bounds, Quinn too. I can see just how people believe everything they're told by the news, it happens now. The truth is we really only want to see what we can want to, not what is true.

How far would we each go? For ourselves? For our loved ones? For what we believe in? And what if it all changes?
